Cover Stories
The men behind the work. Profiled in full.
A Cover Story is the longest piece Notable Men publishes about one man: the men behind the work, profiled in full. It is a profile in the traditional sense, with the time and space to follow a career from its first decisions to the work that defines it today.
Each story starts with the work. The men who appear here have built companies, led organisations through growth and through harder years, or mastered a craft to a level that earns attention on its own. The conversation that follows is long, often more than one sitting, and it is guided by the same question every time: how did this actually get built? We ask about the choices, the people, and the pressures behind the results, and we ask for the version that did not appear in the press release.
The photography and design are part of the story. Each cover is art-directed for the man and the work, so a founder in manufacturing does not look like a fund manager, and a craftsman is not styled like a technology executive. The images and the layout are made to be revisited, the way a print cover is.
Every story also opens with a first sentence chosen to tell you something about the man before you know anything else. The way each piece begins, and what it says about its subject, is collected further down this page.
The archive here is complete and runs newest first. The current cover sits at the top; past covers follow. Every story is also linked from the Interviews hub alongside the Q&A conversations, which offer a shorter, more direct exchange with the same kinds of leaders. If you have built something that would carry a cover, the Be Featured page explains how to put your name forward and what to send us.
