Editorial Team
The biggest AI mistake I see small-business owners make is chasing the shiny tool instead of a specific problem. In my shop we don't buy AI, we point it at one painful, repetitive task at a time and measure whether it actually saved hours or dollars. If it didn't, we drop it. The wins have been unglamorous on purpose: quoting faster, cleaning up messy data, drafting the first version of things a person then finishes. What surprised me most is how much you can build yourself now. You don't need a data-science team to get real value, you just need to know your own workflow well enough to see where an hour is being wasted. Start there, keep a person in the loop, and let results, not hype, decide what stays.
