About

Edward Collins is a licensed mental health counselor and therapist based in Grand Blanc, Michigan. He founded Stone Current Therapy, a telehealth practice that began operations on September 1, and brings more than 21 years of experience to his work with high-acuity clients and aging men facing mortality and life transition challenges. Collins earned his master's degree in counseling from Eastern Michigan University in 2002 and his undergraduate degree in English literature and language, American literature and language, and speech and dramatic arts for secondary education from the same institution in 1978. His career path includes nine and a half years at Ford Motor Company starting at age 17, retail management roles, store liquidation work, three years as a counselor at Ladywood High School, and 16 years at Milford High School before joining Life Stance for over three years. He is a member of the Michigan Counseling Association, American Counseling Association, former president of MCAH (Michigan Counselors for Humanistic Activity), and MHHCA. Collins attributes his success to a questing nature and lifelong curiosity, follows the advice to pursue his bliss as described by Joseph Campbell, and values building trusting relationships with clients while prioritizing family. He has volunteered as a hospice visitor and operated a community produce stand offering vegetables for 25 cents. He is also the author of the book Warrior to Elder: A Path for the Aging Man.

    Keep your head down and push forward. Surround yourself with different people who all have the same agenda as you do.

    Insurance companies, which have the medical power, total control.
