Tyler Martin is a seasoned federal law enforcement professional, author, keynote speaker, and media entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience in law enforcement. His career began as a Deputy Sheriff with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, followed by service as a Maine State Trooper and more than seven years as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service.
Today, Tyler continues to serve as a Special Agent in federal law enforcement, where his responsibilities include criminal investigations, firearms training, and agent qualification oversight.
Tyler holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Tennessee State University and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from the University of South Florida.
Beyond his law enforcement career, Tyler is passionate about humanizing the badge and creating a greater understanding of the people behind the profession.
In 2024, he founded Street Tales Network, a media platform dedicated to sharing authentic stories from law enforcement professionals, veterans, first responders, and subject-matter experts.
He hosts the Street Tales Podcast and Fifty Sixin Podcast and is the author of Street Tales, Volume 1 and curator of The Weight of Responsibility: Leadership Lessons from a Marine Sergeant Major. Through storytelling and content creation, Tyler explores leadership, identity, resilience, workplace culture, wellness, and the experiences that shape those who serve.
Tyler also brings these conversations to audiences as a keynote speaker and event emcee, participating in conferences and initiatives focused on veterans, first responders, leadership, and wellness. He has worked alongside organizations supporting these communities and recently served as emcee for the 2026 National Alliance for First Responder Wellness Summit in San Diego.
As a certified firearms instructor with extensive operational experience, Tyler combines professional expertise with a commitment to authenticity, accountability, and service. Guided by the values of honesty, integrity, and loyalty, he continues to use his platform to connect people, preserve meaningful stories, and remind audiences that behind every badge, uniform, title, and profession is a human story worth understanding.

The best career advice I’ve ever received was not to make decisions based solely on money. Pursue work you believe in, but make sure your career aligns with the life and family you’re building.
For a long time, I chased the dollar and the next professional opportunity. Eventually, I made the difficult decision to leave the Secret Service so I could be closer to my children. It changed the trajectory of my career, but I’ve never regretted it.
Today, the relationships I have with both of my children are worth more to me than any title, position, or paycheck. A successful career means very little if it comes at the expense of the things that matter most.
My advice to young men entering the industry is to focus on purpose, not just a paycheck. Choose a career you genuinely enjoy, but make sure it aligns with the life you ultimately want to build.
Work hard, protect your reputation, treat people well, and understand that your character will take you further than any title. Be ambitious, but don’t become so focused on professional success that you neglect your family, relationships, or yourself.
Careers will change. Titles will come and go. Build a life you’ll be proud of beyond the job.
One of the biggest challenges right now is keeping up with how quickly everything is changing. Technology, social media, and AI have created incredible opportunities, but they’ve also made it harder to separate meaningful work from noise.
For me, the opportunity is in authenticity. Whether it’s law enforcement, leadership, media, or entrepreneurship, people still respond to genuine relationships, honest stories, and individuals who lead with purpose.
I think the challenge moving forward is learning to embrace new tools and opportunities without losing the human connection, integrity, and sense of purpose that ultimately make the work meaningful.
Honesty, integrity, and loyalty are the foundations of both my work and personal life. I was raised by two parents who served in the Marine Corps, and those values were instilled in me from an early age.
Throughout my career and life, I’ve learned that your character is defined by what you do when no one is watching, how you treat people when there’s nothing to gain, and whether you stand by your word when doing so isn’t easy.
Careers, opportunities, and circumstances will change, but your name and reputation follow you everywhere. I try to live and work in a way that makes the people who trust me know that my word means something.
