FOUNDER TO THE PROFILE
ROBERT RING
Correctional Sergeant, Mountain View Correctional Facility
“My supportive family has to be one of the reasons why I am successful. Without them I would not have the incredible experiences and hobbies to share. Having an administration within my department and facility to allow me to share my hobbies and passions with others is also a massive blessing to be able to do this program.”

He emphasizes building positive relationships between staff and residents through these initiatives to enhance the well-being of both staff and incarcerated individuals, to improve rehabilitation outcomes and reduce recidivism rates.

02
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Not everyone is ready to put in the work to change their life but when they are you need to be willing to put in the work to help guide them.
-
03
What advice would you give to young men entering your industry?
Pay attention to, and learn from everybody, take what works for you, and leave what doesn't.
-
04
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Staffing would be, in my opinion, the biggest challenge in corrections both in retention and recruitment. When you work in prison, it can be a very difficult environment. If what I do makes someone's career a little bit better, it is well worth it.

05
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, integrity, accountability and loyalty all rank very high on my personal and professional life.
