Becoming a competitive athlete at a young age and playing college baseball combined with my military experience in the Air Force made me into somebody formidable that can run into an industry like this and try to control it.
In this day and age you have to go for skill development over education. If you can find a degree that has a heavy skill component that's the best combo, but just getting the piece of paper like I did with a business degree is basically toilet paper.
You'd have to be very resilient and you can't give up on the vision of what you want to see happen. You're gonna wanna quit many many times. You have to keep showing up, you have to keep putting in the work even though you're getting your ass kicked.
My industry is a commission-based industry so it takes a different breed of person to go to bed at night calm knowing that everything's gonna be okay when you wake up but you're not really sure how. Marketing is weird because it's a very personal confidential decision and people don't like to show they looked at it.
Integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. That has been an amazing foundation for me in business.
