What really rocks about culture change

Culture Change: Leading, Adapting, and Involvement

My life has been about change. Every time I start a new position or job, or every time I move to another country, city, or town, it has been about change and cultural change.

When a company embraces the idea of culture change, it should be about preparing for the future from all points of view. In my humble opinion, being successful with culture change comes down to three simple things: leading, adapting, and involvement.

Once you start, changes are coming your way, and new doors begin to open. Of course, you can always look at it in different ways. I am simply explaining how I view culture change and how I embrace it.

Leaders need to adapt to and understand cultural changes first in order to involve others. They have the responsibility to involve others and make the process as easy as possible, since we are all different.

Once leaders have a good grasp and a clear vision of what the culture change is all about, they can begin inviting others to participate by leading by example. They can show new doors and introduce new ways of doing things.

That, to me, is what really rocks about culture change: new things coming our way and the opportunity to decide how we want to react to them.
