Navigating Life's Roadblocks and Building Resilience
Adversity has a way of changing the path we thought we were on.
Why this class exists.
Adversity has a way of changing the path we thought we were on. It can challenge our confidence, disrupt our plans, and force us to confront circumstances we never expected. Terry Healey believes resilience isn't simply about returning to who you were before. It's about learning how to move forward with greater strength, perspective, and purpose.
In this Notable Men masterclass, Terry Healey, award-winning author, keynote speaker, business strategist, and author of The Resilience Mindset, shares the personal experiences that shaped his understanding of adversity and the practical tools he developed for navigating life's most difficult roadblocks.
At just 21 years old, Terry was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called fibrosarcoma. After the cancer returned, he underwent extensive surgery that resulted in significant facial disfigurement, followed by radiation and years of reconstructive procedures. Over time, Terry realized that his greatest recovery would not come from another procedure. He needed to rebuild himself from the inside out.
Throughout the masterclass, Terry explores the people, experiences, and practices that helped him regain confidence and move forward. He shares the importance of trusted relationships, gratitude, goal setting, balance, positive visualization, and facing challenges one step at a time. He also introduces his REBAR Resilience Framework, a four-phase process of Reflect, Build, Act, and Renew designed to help people navigate change, conflict, and adversity.

Resilience doesn't mean that adversity leaves us unchanged. Sometimes the greatest growth comes from recognizing what we've survived, discovering strengths we didn't know we had, and choosing to carry those lessons forward. As Terry reminds us, we all have the capacity to build resilience, face our challenges, and continue becoming stronger versions of ourselves.
