He credits his success to his skill at reading people and his persistence in solving problems, and he lives by his father’s advice to show up, shut up, and follow up.
Crowder earned a bachelor’s degree in wellness and fitness from the University of North Georgia, formerly North Georgia College, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a Patriot missile officer for eight years in total, including three and a half years on active duty. IN HIS OWN WORDS

The Q and A

  1. 01

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my ability to understand and read people, along with the tenacity to keep pushing forward and solve problems no matter what the issue is. Every problem has an answer, and giving up is never an option. I keep working the problem, even if I have to step back to find the solution.

  2. 02

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came from my father: show up, shut up, and follow up. If you master those three things, you will consistently come out ahead, because most people stop at just one of them. Some fail to show up on time with the right attitude, some talk themselves out of the sale, and others neglect to follow up. It is also essential to be an asset rather than an annoyance in professional settings.

  3. 03

What advice would you give to young men entering your industry?

Be who you say you are going to be. When looking at your territory, break it down using the ABC methodology: A for monthly goals (choose two to three priorities), B for quarterly goals, and C for long-term goals of 120+ days. Roll your Cs into Bs and your Bs into As. This approach helps manage chaos, work through problems effectively, and maintain integrity in both forecasting and delivery. Building relationships across all hospital departments, not just the operating room, is equally important.

  4. 04

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

AI’s impact on patient-doctor relationships is a significant challenge, as patients are increasingly trusting AI outputs over their doctors and becoming confused by the information they receive. The industry is also shifting from a doctor-centric model to a corporate, hospital-centric model with private investors, which requires adaptability, much like an amoeba. Staying educated and building relationships across all hospital departments, beyond just the OR, is critical to remaining relevant.

  5. 05

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and reliability are the most important values to me. Your integrity is who you are above all else, because everything else can fade away. If people cannot rely on you to be who you say you are, everything falls apart. You must be honest, even when it means admitting your product may not be the best fit, as that honesty builds credibility with doctors and nurses.
