IN HIS OWN WORDS
My mother is the root of all of that. She became my why after her death, motivating me to make better decisions and surround myself with positive influences like mentors, family-oriented people, and church communities.
Never give up, and always keep striving for knowledge. Always do the best at everything that you do.
Know what you're getting yourself into before you get into it. Do your research. Know the politics that are behind it, the things that influence the career.
The ability to uphold my leadership status and my reputation amid politics in education. Being a Black man trying to stay in the classroom has been a challenge, especially with two reprimands on my certificate.
Family is the most important value. I took on responsibilities in my blended family and support my father with health issues, making decisions to make my family proud.
