Robert McCarthy is a business development consultant and founder of Uncle Robert Consulting LLC, a small business consulting agency based in Independence, Missouri, that specializes in helping content creators and startup founders bridge the gap between creative vision and business execution. Since launching the firm in 2025, McCarthy has focused on developing practical business strategies, systems, and growth solutions tailored to each client's needs. His approach emphasizes implementation and ongoing support rather than simply providing recommendations, helping clients build sustainable processes and move from ideas to revenue.
McCarthy brings extensive experience across business development, consulting, project management, customer relationship management, administrative operations, and freelance services. Since 2012, he has worked through Upwork, where he founded Tactix Upwork Agency, a collaborative network of freelancers supporting enterprise and large-company projects. His professional background also includes leadership in ministry and community initiatives, including serving as founder of Rural Reentry Ministry and lead pastor of Family of God Fellowship. These experiences have contributed to his people-centered approach to leadership, training, coaching, and organizational development.
In addition to his consulting work, McCarthy is exploring the intersection of entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and business automation through Agent Lab, an AI-native agency project focused on creating streamlined business operations and reducing reliance on disconnected software systems. He also operates Fundable Consulting, which focuses on financial products, retirement planning, and funding solutions. McCarthy holds a M.A. in Adult Education and Distance Learning and a B.S. in Business Management, both from the University of Phoenix, and has pursued professional development in areas including AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted brainstorming and planning.

What do you attribute your success to?
I am a Christian so I can't but start with my Lord Jesus Christ for all things and I can do nothing without them. Next though is the relationships you make with other folks in your area whether it's a client or a vendor or even a competitor.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
You never fail until you give up. So never give up.

What advice would you give to young men entering your industry?
Plan then scaffold then build. Always cross check, always re-audit, cross-check, make sure your stuff is right.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is access to the right tools at the right time and really knowing what those are. The greatest opportunity is the AI native agency where I have built the entire company powered by AI.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Servant leadership, honesty and integrity, walking beside our client, intentional excellence, human judgment with responsible automation, and practical stewardship. These come from my Christian faith.
