FOUNDER TO THE PROFILE

Curtis Andrews

Licensed Financial Professional, New Genesis Financial

“I attribute much of my success to the discipline, leadership, and resilience I developed during more than 20 years of service in the United States Navy. The military taught me to prepare, pay attention to the details, lead from the front, take responsibility, and accomplish the mission even when circumstances are difficult. Those lessons followed me into financial services. I’ve learned that success is rarely one big decision. It comes from consistently doing the small things well, remaining teachable, serving people with integrity, and continuing to move forward.I also attribute my success to living by what I call The 5 F’s: FAITH, FAMILY, FINANCE, FITNESS, and FUN. They remind me that true success is not measured by income or titles alone. It is about maintaining the priorities that give life purpose, balance, and meaning. My formula is simple: LIVE THE 5 F’S. LEAD FROM THE FRONT. TAKE CARE OF THE SMALL THINGS. SERVE OTHERS. AND KEEP TAKING THE NEXT STEP FORWARD.”

IN HIS OWN WORDS

The Q and A

  1. 01

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to the discipline, leadership, and resilience I developed during more than 20 years of service in the United States Navy. The military taught me to prepare, pay attention to the details, lead from the front, take responsibility, and accomplish the mission even when circumstances are difficult.

Those lessons followed me into financial services. I’ve learned that success is rarely one big decision. It comes from consistently doing the small things well, remaining teachable, serving people with integrity, and continuing to move forward.

I also attribute my success to living by what I call The 5 F’s: FAITH, FAMILY, FINANCE, FITNESS, and FUN.

AND KEEP TAKING THE NEXT STEP FORWARD.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is: never stop learning, never stop serving, and never allow success to compromise your integrity.

Throughout my career—from the military to financial services—I’ve learned that your title may open a door, but your character determines how long you stay in the room.

I’ve also learned not to chase money. CHASE PURPOSE, CREATE VALUE, AND SERVE PEOPLE WELL. When you consistently solve problems and help others succeed, opportunities have a way of finding you.

The advice I carry with me today is simple:

STAY TEACHABLE. PROTECT YOUR NAME. SERVE WITH EXCELLENCE. AND ALWAYS LEAVE PEOPLE BETTER THAN YOU FOUND THEM.

  3. 03

What advice would you give to young men entering your industry?

My advice to young men entering the financial services industry is simple: lead with integrity, become a student of your profession, and focus on serving people—not selling products.

This industry is built on trust. Your reputation will always be more valuable than your next commission. Do what is right for the client, even when it costs you financially.

Be willing to learn, be coached, and stay disciplined. You will hear “no,” make mistakes, and face seasons when progress seems slow. Don’t confuse a difficult season with a wrong direction.

Most importantly, know your WHY. Money may motivate you for a season, but PURPOSE WILL SUSTAIN YOU FOR A LIFETIME.

My advice is: SERVE FIRST. STAY TEACHABLE. PROTECT YOUR NAME. KEEP YOUR FAITH. AND TAKE THE NEXT STEP FORWARD.

  4. 04

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in financial services today is trust. People have access to more financial information than ever, but more information does not always create more clarity. Many families are overwhelmed by competing opinions, complicated products, market uncertainty, and concerns about whether their retirement income will last.

I believe that challenge also represents our greatest opportunity. Financial professionals have an opportunity to move beyond simply selling products and become educators. We can help people understand their options, identify risks, and make informed decisions based on their goals and values.

Technology will continue to change how our industry operates, but relationships, education, integrity, and trust will remain essential.

For me, the opportunity is simple: EDUCATE PEOPLE. EARN THEIR TRUST. HELP THEM PREPARE. AND LEAVE FAMILIES BETTER PROTECTED THAN YOU FOUND THEM.

  5. 05

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are FAITH, FAMILY, INTEGRITY, SERVICE, DISCIPLINE, and PURPOSE.

My FAITH is my foundation, and my FAMILY is my motivation. INTEGRITY guides how I conduct myself, SERVICE reminds me that leadership is about helping others, and DISCIPLINE keeps me committed when things become difficult.

Above all, I believe in living with PURPOSE—using my experiences, abilities, and opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

These values are reflected in the 5 F’s: FAITH, FAMILY, FINANCE, FITNESS, and FUN. They keep me grounded and remind me that TRUE SUCCESS IS NOT JUST WHAT YOU ACHIEVE, BUT WHO YOU BECOME, WHO YOU SERVE, AND THE LEGACY YOU LEAVE BEHIND.
