Cory Blyther is a higher education leader, educator, and enrollment professional based in Eugene, Oregon, with more than 10 years of experience working across admissions, student affairs, teaching, and educational leadership. He currently serves as Associate Director of Admission and Admission Counselor for Online Graduate Programs at Bushnell University, where he works with prospective graduate students and contributes to the university’s enrollment efforts. His career has centered on helping students navigate educational opportunities while strengthening the systems, relationships, and organizational practices that support student success.
Before joining Bushnell University, Blyther served as Vice President of Student Affairs at New Hope Christian College, where he also taught courses in theology and New Testament studies. His earlier experience includes teaching American Literature, English Composition, American History, Cultural Geography, and Bible and Theology at City First Christian Academy, as well as serving as a high school teacher and curriculum developer at Valley Christian Schools. He also spent more than two years as a Lead High School Teacher with Foundations Cognitive Schools, leading instructional staff and interns in implementing research-based, data-driven strategies for neurodiverse students. Across these roles, Blyther has developed expertise in educational leadership, curriculum development, student engagement, team leadership, and organizational systems.
Blyther’s academic background reflects his interest in the intersection of education, leadership, theology, and organizational development. He earned a master’s degree in Biblical Exposition and Theological Studies from Biola University and is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at George Fox University, with a research focus on organizational leadership within higher education. He is particularly interested in adaptive leadership, institutional sustainability, relational culture, and creating environments where students and educators can thrive. Through his teaching, leadership, admissions work, and speaking engagements, Blyther brings a thoughtful and mission-driven approach to education, emphasizing mentorship, connection, purposeful leadership, and the development of students beyond the classroom.
