Chad Williams
Notary Public, Owner of Chad's Notary Services
“I would definitely attribute my success to my determination, faith in God, and the support system I have around me. My sister always reminds me that I have what it takes to accomplish anything I put my mind to. I believe that having confidence in yourself, staying consistent, and surrounding yourself with people who encourage you makes a huge difference. There have been moments when I’ve doubted myself, especially while building my business, but I’ve learned that success comes from continuing to show up, even when things aren’t going exactly as planned. I’m still growing, learning, and working toward bigger goals, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come.”

What do you attribute your success to?
I would definitely attribute my success to my determination, faith in God, and the support system I have around me. I’m still growing, learning, and working toward bigger goals, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the best pieces of career advice I’ve received came from a very successful businessman I had the opportunity to meet. Our conversation really opened my eyes to the importance of building relationships and connecting with people. It reminded me that success isn’t just about what you know, but also about the connections you make and how you treat others. As a business owner, I’ve learned that networking, putting yourself out there, and building genuine relationships can open doors you never expected.

What advice would you give to young men entering your industry?
My biggest advice would be to invest in your education, get the proper training, and don’t be afraid to take that first step. When I first started my journey as a notary public, I remember feeling overwhelmed because there was so much I didn’t know. But I quickly learned that experience is one of the best teachers. You’re going to make mistakes, you’re going to have questions, and there will be moments when you doubt yourself. That’s all part of the process. Don’t allow fear to stop you from pursuing something that could change your life. Stay teachable, remain professional, and keep improving your skills. Most importantly, don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s success. Everyone has to start somewhere.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I would say one of the biggest challenges in the notary industry right now is visibility and building a consistent client base. As a business owner, you can have the training, certifications, and equipment, but if people don’t know your business exists, it can be difficult to generate consistent appointments. I’ve experienced slow periods myself, and I’ve learned how important it is to stay motivated and disciplined even when business isn’t coming in as quickly as you’d like.
At the same time, I believe there are tremendous opportunities in this industry. From general notary work and estate planning documents to loan signings and remote online notarizations, there are different ways to serve clients and grow your business. I’ve been focusing on strengthening my online presence, networking with other professionals, and finding ways to connect directly with potential clients. One thing entrepreneurship has taught me is that opportunities don’t always come to you. Sometimes you have to put yourself out there and create them.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
One of the biggest values I live by is treating people the way I would want to be treated. As a Christian, my faith plays an important role in how I approach both my personal life and my business. I believe in showing kindness, respect, honesty, and integrity in everything I do.
When someone chooses Chad’s Notary Services, I don’t just see it as another appointment or an opportunity to make money. I see it as an opportunity to help someone who needs a service and to make their experience as convenient and professional as possible.
I want people to remember me not only for the quality of my work, but also for how I made them feel. To me, being successful means more than making money. It means building a business that reflects my character, my values, and the way I treat others.
